Ecx-2 repair

Post by ad456m » Sat Jun 29, 2019 5:44 pm

Has anyone ever replaced the signal cable on an evx-2?

Mine keeps intermittently flashing green(no receiver signal if my memory is correct). I’ve changed the rx, battery, motors, servo to rule all that out and sometimes a nice big drop(4-5ft to ground) of the truck fixes it so have the conclusion the cable is the issue. It only cost me £45 with a pair of titans so it’s not really the end of the world if it’s bin fodder.

I’m pretty handy with a soldering iron so I figured might as well have a shot and can use a hot work station when I’m at work.

The issue I’m really having is with the epoxy that the esc is coated in, I can’t see how to get it out of the bottom of the plastic housing without any damage to either the board or housing. Anyone had to do this?

Never mind, found out it was a cold solder on the shorted battery side on the deans connector. Should’ve redone the connectors when I bought it I guess.
