Kyosho madforce

Post by Fatcatcustomz » Wed Feb 11, 2015 1:29 am

Hey gang, time for this guy to get back into nitro! I've been itching for about a year to get one. It was a tie between the savage x and a madforce. I've had plenty of savages in the past, so I figured I would try something new! Plus it's solid axle  which means I'll have the best of both worlds!! Placed my order on tower hobbies earlier today, should be here Friday. Yes I 2 dayed it  I'll post pictures and what not for the box opening!!

 When you break it in, whatever you do, don't rush it and use the same fuel you intend to run in it i.e. 20%, 30% and stick with it. Don't forget the after run oil too.

Hopefully my hobby shop continues to carry VP racing fuel 30%. I did think ahead and got some after run oil
I tried to start it and let it idle first tank but it's way to cold blooded and to cold here right now.

Wrap the head in aluminum foil. It will help retain the heat during the cold months. Just keep an eye on the temperature. You want it to be what the owners manual says it should be at for normal operating temperature. you will have to experiment with the amount of aluminum foil wrapped around the head.

Finally after a month of cold nasty weather we had a break today! Hit 40 degrees so I took advantage and ran the truck for the first time after break in. Runs really well! Didn't get to crazy in the snow (not water proof) mostly just ran around the drive way. Managed to hit second gear out of three haha. Can't wait till this ugly white stuff goes away!!

I didn't think I would miss nitro but apparently I did lol. Have you ran VP fuel Jeff? I absolutely love the smell of it! I know you have a rs4 is it? Do you have any off road rigs that are nitro?

Thanks Andy and yup Justin, That was my second RC I bought when I got back into the hobby. The RS4 was the first.

I have not run VP fuel. I used O'Donnell and Bryon race fuel. I'm sure they have changed though because it has been years since I ran them...Maybe this summer.
