So I figured I'd start a thread on my new truck. I've been wanting to do a shafty build for a while now and it took me a while to decide on the platform. But, after careful consideration, I picked up a g10 ckp with axial ar60 axles and an ax10 trans. I plan on doing it up like the Grim Reaper. So without further hesitation, here it is.
Next I noticed the suspension was binding up so I had to do some tweaking. You can see that the links had long ends on them at the chassis and were inside the plates. Also, they were mounted outside the mounts at the axle and the sway bars were in the mounts.
I changed the long ends to short ends and moved the mounting points outside the plates and to the outer hole. This let me put the links in the mounts at the axle, sways on the outside. Seems stronger to me in theory, and best of all, no binding.

I also went ahead and picked up a Robinson Racing hardened steel idler gear since I've heard that's the first to go in the axial trans with brushless power......
which is precisely what's going in here. Got a castle sv3 5700 combo installed.
Also can't forget to mention I'm changing the hardware to stainless steel.

Next order of business was to get the battery hold down taken care of and mint the esc some where. This chassis really wasn't designed for this big of a battery so it takes up the whole tray. I cut a piece of lean and bolted it in to mount the esc on and got some of the wiring ran. I'm really trying to keep this truck clean, simple, and easy to operate/maintain.
Looking great! I like the mods you did with the links and the sway bars. What kind of gearing did you decide on for this? Also curious what Spur gear that is? It looks like you had to lenghten the drive axles too. At some point you may want to get steel ones, after you get a few runs in it. They might hold up though.

Thanks Jeff. I believe the spur is a Traxxas one. The slipper clutch has been eliminated and the gears are 32p, I think it's at 16/54, I can't remember exactly lol. The drive shafts are actually modified 4x4 stampede half shafts.

Thanks Alex, I've been meaning to start a thread but I've been procrastinating. My cousin works for a sign shop and he's supposed to be working on printing some decals for me. I'm going to have to pester him and see if he's got them done.
