clodzilla 2 sport chassis build suggestions.

Post by chewy78 » Fri Jan 29, 2016 5:40 pm

Hello new here but not new in rc. I ordered a clodzilla 2 sport chassis suspension kit from ESP and need to get as pair of motors, 2s lipo and clodbuster drivetrain and maybe a body. I already have a novak super rooster esc(i have on order a novak 2s lipo cutoff), some radio gear including a hitec hs-5945mg servo. I was going to get some t maxx big bore shocks.
I was looking at some venom fireball 21d motors. o Or i might just get a new super clod buster kit and some good sealed bearings .

Wow I remember paying $99 new for mine back in the day - but they are a cool classic chassis and harder to find these days for a good deal.

I always preferred the Zilla II set up big and tall, with all 8 shocks...a real monster! Never was really interested in the cantilever setup they offered for it - from what I have seen it allows a lot of slop and I prefer a Clod to be tight...seems like less breaks that way.

The Maxx shocks are a tad shorter than factory Clod, but I think the Z II comes with the lift kit??? They should be perfect if those are installed!

The benefit of the Titan Maxx/Revo motors is that they are cheap and pretty darn tough. They handle high V well and IMO are great on 3s in a mild-medium built Clod offering adequate performance and reliability.
Monster trucks rule :)

ya im not looking to go overboard on 3s lipos this soon . maybe a single or dual 7,600-10,000mah hardcase 2s lipo setup in parallel for run time.

Is ESP still in business? Their website no longer works and I haven't seen them selling on eBay for a while. It looks like their domain goes to a spam engine.

And yea there was a while where ESP was selling them on eBay for $90. That's when I bought the kit for my brother's clod.

ESP Hobby is still around they are actually http://www.midwestmini.com/ now. I received my clodzilla sport 2 kit earlier this week. They still do a few orders here and there. They are more into the LT80 Mini ATV, Polaris , Ski-Doo , Arctic Cat , Yamaha 120 Mini Snowmobile and Comer 50 Kid Kart Performance parts area now.
