WWhiskeys Dream Barn Find!

Post by WWhiskey »

As I posted in my other thread, an old friend had bought my original clodbuster back when I got out of the service.

I was buying a house and needed all the extra cash I could come up with, so he helped me out with it, as well as an USA1 I had and a boat,, he had since sold the boat and the USA1 but had kept the clod all these years, he really liked the truck and the story behind it,, it's been in the Rhine River , as well as on stage in the World Famous Topper club, Frankfurt Germany and a few less family friendly places,,I trolled for girls on the beach in Creete Greece once with it even!
At one bar I partied at, "Dixie's" in Bad Kreuznach I pulled a 200# man in a wheel chair faster than he wanted to go, luckily without hurting him!
I drove it during intermissions at monster truck shows in Amarillo before I sold it to him, he got a world famous truck!

My friend played with it for a few years but finally broke it pretty bad when it left the Stage at a place called the Crystol Pistol in Amarillo, then Sat in his basement for the next 20 years, the basement had been flooded at least once during that time, the radio and speed controller had been shot for sure, but the steering servo looks to be ok,, it has been swimming in the Rhine before without any problems so I wasn't to worried about that.
I had tried to buy the truck back many times, but he wouldn't let me have it.
Then Recently, I told him I thought I had enough spare parts to rebuild it for him and poof, it appeared at my door!
Picutres to follow!

I'm using my frame from the eagle truck,, I'm also a big fan of re-purpose parts, so these shocks are also leftovers but a little shorter,, with a little bit of drilling, I thought this would make a cool shock mount!

Lol,, I'd like to go find out!
Dixie,s was an awesome bar, there was a Gyro stand next door and then a techno place after that! The perfect kind of place, a country bar in Germany,, they played it all but the Germans really liked Asleep at the Wheel!

Well I've been told that the original body must stay with the truck,, so a little cleaning up, a few repairs and this will have to do!
Image

I made sure all the screws are tight and replaced a few parts,, also got another body out of the deal so it's all good

Going to build a harness for the motors and my super rooster with another olde radio and send it home,, after a video of course! More to come
