Bought an oddball Clod Chassis

Post by hardedge »

Not having dismembered a Clod for about 25 years, I'll have to inspect the Clod I bought from Scott to figure out how to mount the mechanicals. The body will be something else entirely. And I'll probably use some styrene to make the battery and radio forms.

Anyone have any idea where I could find lower profile wheels/tires (~3.7 tall)? The stock Clod shoes are just too massive.

Especially the "etc." Been watching it for about a month. The price was $100 and then it dropped down to $65 --with free shipping. How do you beat a deal like that? Except maybe if you don't know if its going to work for what you want it to do. :?:

If it has a tray across the bottom you might be able to mount it just like it was on the one I sent you. At worse, you may have to drill 4 holes for each end. As far as the body, I think the ones I used were from a Traxxas truck. I just headed to the LHS and searched the shelves until I found what I needed. I bought the extra long ones to make sure they fit, then cut them down.

I like that the whole top is flat. Infinite mounting option for electronics and such. Can't wait to see what you do with it.

Ha-ha that would be awesome. Or a mobile drone quad rotor launching platform.
