9T Pinion gear

Post by 4x4XJ »

I'm looking for a 9T pinion gear. Is this what I need? Is there a better gear/price somewhere else?

4x4,
yep your clod has 32 pitch gears. that'll work. REMEMBER though, you will need adjustable motor mounts to make the gear mesh correctly with the transmission gears.

While we're on the subject, I just bought a pair of 9t pinions from tower. They are made by rrp. one set meshed great but the other does not. Anyone else have problems with the rrp gears? Or is it related to the small size of the pinion?

I have to fess-up Here, I took a good look at the gears tonite and found that the 9t pinion contact area is narrower than the gear it contacts with. I had set the depth too deep so the set screw was contacting the gear and not allowing proper mesh.
