40 to 1 gear reduction units

Post by cab4word67 » Mon Sep 17, 2018 10:58 pm

Hi everyone,
Thanks for letting me find such a great site. I currently have a first gen Clodzilla frame, Throp difs and a SEI speed controller, and after 28 years it all still runs. I have 16 T single winds on it and want to know if I should go to 35T or 55T as I want to just do rock crawling, Currently have a set of 2.2s and some rearly soft rock tires that are 5" tall. Any Ideas would be helpful. Running a 5000 3S 50C Lipo

I have a Crawler Clod that I run small pinions in with adjustable motor mounts. I'm running a 10T pinion in the front and 8T in the rear. I do this to help Clod Stall. The 8T pinion is 49:1 and 10T is 39:1. I'm just running 27T brushed motors. It goes well for what I use it for.
