Proline rims for Clod.

Post by ratzo » Tue Mar 16, 2010 2:18 am

I just came across a full set of 40 series rims made for the Clod at one of the local hobby shops.
I didn't know such a rim existed.
I'm just curious about the desirability of these rims.

mine too? :?
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming to the Lord,
"Wow, What a ride!"

No extra liquid cash at this time, but I did toss them to the back of the shelf.
Pay day this week so I'll probably pick them up some time in the next week.

Cool! Well if you get them post some pictures... Also when you looked at them what type of mounting do you use on the back side? Hex, Clod 5 pin?

They were probably outback wheels,
They have been discontinued for a few years, now they just make them for maxx trucks etc.

Yeah, the Big Joe rims were larger diameter which in turn take a tire more like that of the Maxx rather than what is normally found on a Clod. I don't know if they're still being made. I think originally they were for the Jugg and it's successor, not the clod, so while they're 5 pin, the pins are larger than those of the clod. Not to worry though, all you have to do to fit them is drill out the holes in the drive hub a little.

That's what I remember of them anyway.
I used to think I was indecisive, but now I'm not so sure.

Jugg & clod are same pin size, txt is larger.

I think those were for the txt,
Drill the hub holes to 9/32 to fit a clod.
