Replic of my uncle's 55 chevy dirt car

Post by 80's MonsterMan » Wed May 21, 2014 1:19 pm

Hey guys, I just though I'd share with you my latest 1/24 scale build I did about 6 months ago.

It's a 1955 Chevy 210 sedan that my uncle use to race in the 1973 season. He raced this car in middle Tennessee its was a hobby class dirt car.

I spent an enormous amount of time detailing this car. Fully plumed out: fuel lines battery fully wired custom made decals and dents, tire marks, rub marks and mud. All this car was painted with rattle can and the mud was all done with a paint brush. The fender well headers were made out of small diameter solder wire.

Thats great looking. lots of details :)
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming to the Lord,
"Wow, What a ride!"

Thanks Thunderstrike, man I done w/ 1/24 scale stuff for a while lol. My "Oldskool" Clod build will be hardcore like my models are. Just takes way more time but, that would be cool. I almost built a 1/18 scale rc car replica of a 57 chevy dirt car. Bodies are nonexistence for the larger scale. Lexan just dosen't do it for me either. Processed Plastics toys aka: Timmee toys had a killer 1957 chevy about 15" long for this project.

Parma now makes a 55 chevy for short course truck chassis.. and they make a touring car sized 57 as well.. also check out RJ speed bodies they have quite a few as well - nice model!
