Ok I gave some drawings to a friend of mine for a tranny and side plates for my "NEW CRAWLER".
So with useing maxx diffs i can go from 165:1 (18 tooth pinion) to
298:1 (10 tooth pinion) at the wheels.
These are cut out on a cnc machine so we can do some tweeking if need be.
This thing weights 1.1lbs with the 550 motor and the side plates are 5.7oz.
Check out the pics and let me know what yall think.
The output shaft is not cut to size yet so it is extra long.
I just finished the drawings for some axles useing maxx diffs.
THIS IS GOING TO BE SWEET ! ! ! ! !
This is the tranny!!

Looks good.
The motor is kinda up there, if i were to make a custom tranny i would have the motor all the way down by the outputs, if not lower
looking good so far tho

I was going to mount the batt's low in the chassis to keep the CG down, but it is only one motor!

Hey guys,
Sorry i have not posted any more pics lately, ive been working alot.
So far i have not got to much further on the chassis and trany but i have been working on the axles, they are sweet! i will post some pics of them on friday.
Hey badhoopty do you realy think that 300:1 is too low?
we will see. but the good thing is i can change the pinion and get this:
with a 10 tooth pinion the final from the trany is 104.5:1 when that goes through the maxx diffs that comes out to be a final of 298:1 at the wheels but if i use a 18 tooth pinion going through the same set up i get a final of 105.3 at the wheels. i can also change the spur and then do the math to see what i get.
and i think the tire size will have alot to do with the final speed too.
more pics tomorrow!!!

OK, like i said i would!!
this is a mock-up of one of the axles i have been working on.
the tubes are a bit short in the pic.
the finished ones will use REVO driveshafts inside the tubes!
it also uses maxx diffs and REVO axle carriers so you can do the 4 wheel steering if you want after the servo mounts are made.
