I use a Spektrum Dx4c. Cheap and more than efficient! My boy uses a gt3b from flysky on his slash 4x4. Seems to be ok now. But it has had a habit of the rx's burning up either the throttle port or steering.

I use a hacked Flysky GT-3B with a 6 chaneel receiver. Use 2 servos for steering m(Channel 1 and 3) and Channel 2 for throttle.

I am using channel 5 and 6 for light control and have channel 4 open.

The 6 channel receiver is about $15, the GT-3B is under $40, and the hacking needs are around $25 total.

This give me a 6 channel receiver for under $100. I also did the imnproved voltage regualtor hack and the bearing replacement and still I am under $100.

You need at least 3 channels plus 4 wheel steering mixing for the clod to do it well. A 2 channel will work, but means a new radio if you improve the Clod.

The FklySky 4 channel would work, but the flexibility of the hacked GT-3B (or GT-3C) is really unmatched for anything in that price range.

REad about the GT-3B hacks (Google it, lots of info) and you can see the value. You can buy a pre-hacked version, or some places will hack it for you for about $30 if you aren't into soldering.

IMHO of course....
