4 wheel steering what radio to use

Post by frogs84ss » Sat Apr 20, 2013 9:22 pm

hey guy new to the forum but not to the clod :D I have owed 6 in the last 26 years. I'm about the jump back in again sense I had sold oll my ther trucks years ago. my question in what radio can I use to set up my 4 wheel steering as fallows.

I want to mix the rear steering (3rd channel) with frt steering
I want to beable to control if the rear steering is avtive or not off the aux switch
I also want to beaboe to rogram in how much travel and at what point the rear steering kicks in such as at 50% frt steering travel the rear steering start to mix in. 9 if that makes sense.

basicly making it so I can run 2 wheel steering or run mixed four wheel steering for so that at high speeds I wouldnt have full wheel steering and then when I slow down and use more steering the rear steering kicks in 9 if that makes sense )

thanks for any help

I understand computer radios for flying ( I have a dx7) but have yet to get a computer radio for my surface rc's.

also I'm buget minded as are most us I'm sure so I'm not looking for a 400 dollar radio
and I'm not afraid to get a 100 dollar radio that does what I want.

thanks guys and I'm looking forward to more posts and pics to come of my clod buster build

im using a ground pounder 3 channel in my basher. works great, has independent front or rear steer, crab or tight radius turning with the push of a button. Ebay had it for $45 w/ receiver

i have a couple of flysky gt3b hacked radios, and i can have up to 8 channels,i i have a couple of my clods built up for crawling, and these are sporting 6 channel receivers, i have front and rear independent steering, crab, front and rear dig, proportional bias power to either motor, the radio is only like $40 bucks and extra receivers are around $10 each, don't get me wrong i own futaba, hitec and spektrum radios, but for the price and tunability once hacked, this radio is a winner.

The DX3C is a great radio. My son and I both use one and we have had no complaints. The third channel for steering can be set up in the manner you described.
