Fly wheels flying off

Post by Element » Sun Jan 23, 2005 11:37 pm

Well I finally replaced the gears on my truck last weekend and got around to running today.

put it on the starter box and the fly wheel came loose I ahve tightened it 3 times and it still happens.

I aslembled the clutch bell just as the intructions say but the fly wheels keeps comign loose.

Is there something I am missing?

Any help would be greatley appreciated.

Thanks

You're talking about the aluminun ribbed-edge piece that would make contact with a starter box, correct? It sounds like you need a washer/spacer someplace. What I'm saying is that you may not have enough pressure on the conical washer that sits on the shaft and alows the flywheel to be pressed on. If you put a washer between the bearing on the Clutch Bell and the nut that tightens the whole assembly, it may cure that. I know I had that same problems after making some mod or another on my Nitro MT.

If it's something else, post some particulars.
