TRX15

Post by Halgar » Tue Dec 10, 2013 2:02 am

Anybody know if Traxxas is still doing their motor exchange? I was at their site today and it looks like the TRX15 has been discontinued, but was unable to find any core/motor exchange. They used to give you $75 for your old core (TRX15, more for the 2.5 ).
I used to think I was indecisive, but now I'm not so sure.

You'd probably need to call or e-mail them and ask. I'm pretty sure that's only a trade-in value, and not actual cash that they offer.
You actually thinking of getting that T-maxx running?

Notice I did not say "running again".......

I say you use it for a fishing weight and consider yourself lucky to have it.

The 2.5 and the .15 are essentially the same motor. Just a different case and jug and bigger carb on the 2.5. You can probably find one on eBay cheaper than what you can through traxxas

It's been a bench weight for long enough, I'm tired of looking at it.

No, I'm not going to get the thing running, but if the motor has a core value towards another (yes, it was a trade value, not cash transaction ), then it is worth leaving it in the vehicle for the next owner to work with.

YES..
Traxxas also offers a Lifetime Engine Replacement Plan for nitro-powered models as part of our Power-Up Program. This plan allows you, at any time throughout the lifetime of your TRX Pro.15, TRX 2.5, or TRX 3.3 engine, to exchange it for a brand-new engine at 50% of the suggested retail price of the new TRX engine. In addition to using this program to replace your engine with a new, identical engine, you can also use the Power-Up Program to upgrade from the TRX Pro .15 to the TRX 2.5, or from the TRX 2.5 to the TRX 3.3. For more information on any of the Traxxas warranties or any of our other service plans, contact our customer service department.1-888-TRAXXAS (1-888-872-9927

That would require turning an R/C wrench. You obviously don't know who you are addressing....

The only wrench I'll turn at this thing is to throw the wrench from across the room at great force toward it!

What you don't know is...... Halgar has had that T-maxx a long time, and it's not been a pleasant ownership.
It's also why he likes to pick on traxxas so much.
