if i put a new sleeve and pistion in my motor do i have to break it in all over?

Yep every time you change either of those you have to allow them to seat into each other before putting a load to it. Don't tell me you already have to rebuild the motor. :shock: :shock:

well what happend was it flipped over in the sand and the air filter fell off while running so my guess is it sucked some sand in . now it doesnt have as much compression and its hard to start what else could it be???

If it suck up some sand it most likely did damage to the entire engine, not just the piston and sleeve. Take the engine apart and take a good look at the crank and bearings, it doesn't take much to ruin them. You would be better off buying a complete engine IMO. If you replace just the p/s it won't last very long.

It is very important to zip tie your filter onto the carb, you should not be able to pull it off, use pliers to tighten it if you have to. Don't be afraid to cut a zip tie to clean your filter, it's worth the trouble.

What airfilter set-up you have?
