Hitec X1 or Venom Pro2

Post by Awesome Kong84 » Mon Feb 29, 2016 5:28 pm

Local hobby shop is telling me to go with the X1 because programming is simpler. Any suggestions on either two?

Hitec X1 all the way for those two choices. The programming is very close to the same in my opinion on both. The Hitec seems to charge more consistently.

My brother and I have both had Venom chargers and the included power supplies failed. Another guy I know had his start on fire.

Thanks for the input. I will be going w/ a Hitec charger. Not sure exactly which one now but for the price the X1 seems very reasonable and in my budget.

What size cells are you running w/ your truck? Any recommendations on 2s packs?

I am running 2s 5200s and 2s 5800s in the clods. Value Hobby sells G-Force lipos for very affordable prices, I have 2 of those currently. Have been happy with them. Did have 3 but one puffed badly. May have been age related or due to the fact it was fully submerged in my SCX10 in a pond.

The 5800s I have are Traxxas lipos. They work great but are expensive.

If I were buying new ones right now I would be looking at SMC Racing. I have heard great things and the prices are pretty good too.

Thanks for the input. How long have you had your Lipo's? As far as your run time, power, charging have you noticed any sort of negative change?
