Tamiya Super Stock TZ on the clod?

Post by m1919 » Sun Jun 28, 2015 8:34 pm

Got a pair of Tamiya Super Stock TZs.

These are 23T fixed advanced-timed motors, but they're an open endbell design and can be modified to to adjustable timing. Box states they're rated for 7.2V.

Few questions:
- Any chance these can handle 3S lipo?
- Is it better to set one up for reverse rotation and keep the timing advance, or just go for neutral timing for both?
- If I fry these, is it possible to swap armatures from other 540 motors in?

Edit: Already modified and set them up for neutral timing for now.

^^^ That's what I would do as well. Being 23t I think they have a fighting chance of survival.
