Hi everyone. First im new to this site and love it. Ok i have heard and seen ppl using 3s lipos with xl5 esc. And i know ppl have ran 4s on the stock 27 turn motors. And i know esc specs. says 9.6 volts max. Just wanted ppls opinion on if its safe or wise to run 2 xl5 escs with two stock 27 turn motors on 2 3s lipos?
You only need one XL-5 to run a a pair of 27t motors... the 3S part is a gamble. If you don't care if the esc fries, I would try it, just to see what happens. Otherwise, I would just use a different esc.
Don't want to thread hijack but I plan to run my xl5 with 2 silver cans, how does one go about wiring both motors?
You need extra wire and connectors to make a Y-harness at each motor lead.
So basically split the single wires into duals and hook them to their respective motors?
Yes, one set of +/- to each motor, and hook the one's to the rear motor up opposite, so that is runs backwards (the rear motor needs to run backwards).
Thank you sir!
