King Hauler

Not sure where to put this?

My buddy has lost interest in RC and been sitting on this kit for over a year now. He said I could build it if I want, and possibly be able to buy it off him when done or he will give me something in trade for assembling it for him. I am pretty excited, this is a nice detailed kit!

Anyone messed with one of these, or have any tips for the big rig?

Justin has built one and a few others here. I want one for my workbench someday as well! Have fun with it!

So here are some progress pics...LOTS of tiny hardware in this kit! The axles and trans were fun to build...my first experience with an RC 3 speed. I jut mocked the cab on there for the pics, but chassis/drivetrain is coming along nicely!

My fingers and hands hurt just thinking about it!!!

The best part though is that my building table is in my living room with HARDWOOD FLOORS! Nothing worse than trying to find tiny screws in some shag carpet, lol...so I have it pretty good I guess

true, right up until that little washer falls down, bounces under the couch, and rolls away to the other end of the room under the couch before you can get down on the floor to find it...

yes, I can see the good and the bad in all floor situations *lol*

You are right, had it happen a few times! I can hear the darn thing rolling away ever so slightly then I try to follow where I last heard the sound and start cussing as I'm sliding furniture out of the way. :censored:

Little update on the truck. It still sits how it was in the last pic, but I have sealed the deal to now make it mine! I should be working on it again within the next few weeks so I will update accordingly.

I think you'll need to mod the chassis to fit those proline brawlers on all the axles, just think there could be a slight binding issue on the rear 2 axles in stock layout....

LOL

I'm excited to get this one built in stock form, then slight modify from there. A kit like this is hard for me to start hacking into right away :)

Trust me after your first stock you'll never have another. You'll open a box kit and start hacking right away. lol. Out of the four I've built in the last 2 years the closest one to stock is my first and even at that out of the box it got aluminum wheels, full metal tranny, half fenders, upgraded axles and drive shafts, etc.
A off roader may be able to jump and run around a track. A on roader may be able to run circles around the road but a monster truck will run over anything and everyone.
