Cool, thanks for that. I'm really keen to build one of these. I need axles, but I have lots of spares including 2 sets of short 4 links and a set of long. Gathering ideas....!

I may have plenty of links left over. All the little frame stiffeners are just links cut down and tapped for the screws. Might even have a couple axles to spare. Gotta go through my stuff and figure out what I wanna keep.

An idea for the front body mount (too late now, sorry #-o ) is to do like you did in the back with an angle bracket but put the posts on the body and have them go through holes in the bracket. In your case there are already screws in the licence plate area so I would use those to hold the posts. The body would then go on by sliding it rearward as the front posts go through the bracket and then the rear posts keep the body in place. Wouldn't even really need to use body clips on the front but could probably put them in through the wheel wells or from underneath. Something to keep in mind anyway.

Took some time to paint the body tonight, found the exact same red. My painting skills are terrible, so hopefully it turns out ok.

Mocked up a flatbed today using some more aluminum c channel. After a bit of sanding they should slide pretty smoothly.

This is not the material I plan to use for the deck, this is just for a mock up. Gonna use some thicker weld-able steel so I can make some side rails.

I need to find a linear servo with about 10" of travel and I can easily make this work. Saw some plans to hack a regular servo using some threaded rod, may go that route.

Looks pretty good with the wraith sitting on top!

Here's my ideas for an actuator..

Hack a servo so it continuously rotates, screw in some threaded rod to the servo with some red loctite. Get some internally threaded rod and attach a ball link end, screw it over the threaded rod. Attach servo to the frame, and ball link to the flatbed. When the servo rotates, it will screw and unscrew the internally threaded rod, to any length I want.

Now to find out what size thread the solar 772 servo is, and find the appropriate rods!

Ok so the servo idea is not gonna work... Impossible to find internally threaded rod, and m3 all thread is just too weak. So, I found an old night crawler transmission, attached an 8-32 all thread, and gonna tap some aluminum stock, put it on a hinge and attach it to the bed.

Haven't had time or money to work on this lately, but got some wrenching in today. Tranny and motor mounted up... All that's left really is to drill and tap the aluminum to thread onto the 8-32 rod, and attach it to the bed. Here's some pics.

Nice build! I like the progress on the lift bed idea. I just hope the aluminum rod is strong enough to move it with a load.

BTW, try putting card board or newspaper down when painting. You won't ruin your floor. The paint job turned out very nice though for being terrible at it.

Use some of that elect grease that they use to put on lightblubs for cars on your rails to help it slide. and im really likeing this build. =D>

Ok, so it is a VERY rough mockup... Still work to be done, but I'm starting to see a glimmer of light at the end of this incredibly difficult tunnel. Got some more work done today. Gonna make some adjustments over the weekend, but overall I am very satisfied with the progress!! Couple videos of the roll back in action:

Ok now that I got most of it worked out, time to start making a good looking deck for it. Here's of a video of it with the deck on it. Works good, have yet to test it with my wraith on it. Just happy to get this part outta the way. It took a lot of time figuring out how to do this, and though it isn't perfect - I'm very satisfied with it. Enjoy.

I fixed your links. ;)

That is awesome!
I don't think I've seen that done before either.
