 Re: Clod chassis project
That is a good idea. I will send it tomorrow and let you know what they say...The guys at the LHS said it should be fine. But you never know.

 Re: Clod chassis project
hmm, what exactly are you trying to do..i think your trying to run 1 3s pack instead of 2 2s packs right.?.if so you need a jumper that plugs into one of the batt connectors on your evx and then your 3s will plug into the other batt plug as usual, all the jumper does is complete the circut at the batt plug, you can make one real easy if you have a soldering iron and the plug i think nouseforaname is right to be catious..its making my head hurt trying to figure out if it will send 11.1 to each side..its a parralel plug adaptor and the esc,s batt plugs are in series...hm i,m thinking dont do it with that plug

 Re: Clod chassis project
Well, I got a response. So I guess I will be going the two battery route... Thanks Greg for pointing this out! "It will not work. The most you can run on a single battery is 8.4 volts."

I'm going to just settle for two Lipo's at 7.4 volt's each. I have the room on the chassis so space is not really an issue.

Are you going to use a low voltage cutoff to protect the batteries? I found an article discussing this, post #7 is pretty detailed http://monster.traxxas.com/showthread.p ... ow+voltageHere is the diagram from that post

Thanks Greg! I was not panning on it but might try that. Seems easy enough. I like your new Avatar too!

 Re: Clod chassis project
No problem And thanks There is a site where you can make your own http://www.smileycreator.com/creator/main.jhtmlIt doesn't say if you use a 2cell or 4 cell lvc, I guess its probably a 2cell as only one battery is used for the bec.

 Re: Clod chassis project
So I took the Clod on it's maiden voyage this afternoon and OMG! To much power! I thought running it on two 7.4V lipos would be OK for it but when you stab the gas it puts the truck on it's lid. It was alos very hard to keep staight so I need to mess with the end points on the steering. I'm going to switch it up and only run one battery and see if this is better.
I'm not liking the ESC either; to much hesitation when you pull the throttle. Anyone with the EVX-2 notice this? I also noticed the motors got ridiculously hot. Almost to the point that they smelt like they were melting. Soon as I noticed this I unplug the batteries. I only ran it for about 10 minutes. The motors are new and have not been broken in so they should be ok....

 Re: Clod chassis project
hmm, i dont have one set up at the moment..does the esc light up green when you give throttle..it sounds like the reverse delay..it easy to hook stuff up bacwards ..also are you running stock gearing..13s shouldnt be too much?

Yeah, it has the stock gearing and the light does light up. This ESC only has three modes and the green light is on when it is turned on. You really have to be careful of the brakes too or it will flip the other way... Sport mode Race mode(No reverse) Training mode(50% forward, 100% brakes, 50% brakes)
