I like the color scheme, be interesting to see the final product.
Odd how tamiya made the new chassis heavier though...

Very nice work so far. I'm trying to figure out what other bodies fit on this truck.

I thought I read somewhere that one of the Emaxx bodies was an exact fit, perfect match on the factory body post holes on the TXT-1 and 2. Anybody know or tried it?

Anything with an 11.5-13" wheelbase will fit. I have had numerous Proline bodies on my TXTs and you can always cheat the wheelbase a bit for it to look good.

For sure hopefully Tamiya will produce another batch of TXT-2's which will also drive down the price of NIB TXT-2's they are very expensive at the minute. I am on my second at the minute.

Really hope to see TXT-3 released and a bit more effort by Tamiya this time maybe fresh design. Unlikely but you never know!
Good morning. I am using voice recognition from my iPhone to reply to your comment. I had a petition and placed out on Facebook when this TXT-2 came out.
To be honest with you and I am,I really do not know what Tamiya of America is planning on doing. I feel that everyone here on ClodTalk, and RCMT and other forums. Not to mention the r/c groups on Facebook need to band together to create another petition asking for the tires that we need to keep these machines running. Or they will be sitting on a shelf collecting dust.

It would be really nice to see a new truck from Tamiya with some new design features as Alex said. As for Clod tires they are readily available from Tamiya, Proline, and JConcepts. I don't see tires as the issue right now for the TXT trucks part wise. Its the gear box parts that are currently unavailable and very difficult to find at this point.

Sadly, Tamiya America seems to only stock a fraction of the total Tamiya inventory. I'm spoiled living in Japan, everything for the TXT-2 is available. Numerous items listed as discontinued on the America site are indeed available. I just saw this at the Tamiya outlet in Tokyo, crazy what's still on the shelf.

Done with painting, just need to add a few decals. I did the windows with PS-31, Tamiya Smoke, I think it came out fine. Definitely not a perfect job, but I'm happy.

Paint job looks awesome, really nice job.

Do you happen to know of any online stores in Japan that stock TXT parts? I really need to get a hold of some diff/axle parts. Have quite a few TXT-1/TXT-2 trucks. I used to get a lot from Jason's store, but he seems to be out of stock on most TXT stuff.

With the wheels and tires on, Pro-line Destroyer and TXT-1 wheels. Still need to wire up the ESC and receiver.

I was going to use a Sidewinder ESC, but decided to go with the Mamba X so I can run sensored. The Mamba X also has a much better BEC. Still using the Castle 3800kv motor, single motor. I used Gorilla Tape to seal the second motor opening. The 4PV radio is a huge step forward from my last radio, setting up 4WS is a snap, tons of features.

I'm running a 16T Robinson pinion. With the Pro-line tires having a slightly smaller diameter, it should produce about the same speed as a stock TXT-2 on 2S lipo.

I went with the Pro-line tires in part to save weight. About 2.2 oz per corner, pretty good reduction. The TXT wheels are only 5 grams heavier than Clod wheels.
