ironcorn's Tamiya TXT-1

Post by ironcorn » Sat Sep 16, 2017 3:04 am

Scored this TXT-1 locally. $180 for everything you see, so I think I got a good deal. I've never laid hands on a TXT before; super impressed! Wish I would have got one of these long before now. Whereas the Clod is somewhat "toy-ish" , this thing feels like a machine.

It's in great condition. Previous owner said he ran it once, then life on the shelf. This looks to be true, not a mark on it. He had dual ESC's and dual batteries rigged up. I attempted to restore the batteries with a forming charge, but was only able to get them to hold about 300 mah.

I'm going to completely tear it down and reassemble with a focus on reducing weight.

Sweet deal, that is a score!
I see it's set up for 4-wheel steering too, nice.

I think the coolest off the shelf truck ever. I've had three, but have culled back to 2. I only run one but can't bring myself to sell the other!

Great deal on a TXT, they rarely go for under $300 from what I've seen. Since I got my first about 10 years ago I fell in love with them, really tough trucks with some mild upgrades. Have 5 of them now and would never part with any of them, just harder to find nowadays and only going up in value. Still have one new in the box and cant bring myself to build it.

Yep! It has older SX-101z Sanwa servos (all they electronics are Sanwa). They're only 48oz, but they turn the tires pretty well. I've been looking at ProModeler servos if the Sanwa's don't work out.
