Proline Brawler Rim Mounting On 6mm Axle Issue

Post by dubbl-a » Sat Apr 01, 2017 10:23 pm

Hey everyone, I have a little problem and wanted to get some advise.

I'm want to mount a Brawler rim on a 6mm stub axle (traxxas erevo) and I can't seem to find any tool that can get down into the rim to tighten the 5mm nut. Even my slimmest socket just wont fit.
Do I have to drill out the hole in the rim to except a socket?

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Here's what I mean. It's on the +17mm offset wheel.
I cant get a socket down deep enough to tighten the nut.

get a longer extension or use a deep socket.

Well, the length isn't the problem, it's the diameter of the socket.
It wont push down into the wheel to reach the nut... :?
I'm thinking if I drill it out with a large drill bit it might work but I don't want to weaken the wheel.

You need to find a thin nut driver. It will go in the wheel.

I have the same problem with my tributes with the medium adapter. when I try to use the rc4wd 1/4" 12mm to 12mm widener using the supplied barrel nut. All my drivers are to big for the hole.

When I ran into a similar problem I ground down the diameter of the socket.

I had the same problem on my tributes I used a 7mm deep well socket and the neck down on the deep well fit perfectly without drilling the whole bigger
