Yea, those servo mounts look great but are useless when installed. Only being able to run the stock Tamiya links was the killer for me, you will bend the drag link after the first jump, guaranteed. I ended up buying some carbon fiber sheet and making my own. Now I can use heave duty aluminum stock for links with Dubro HD rod ends and a Kimbrough servo saver. Has been on a few of my trucks for years and have yet to bend a link or hurt a servo.

Truck looks awesome though, very clean build as always Alex.

@ 87lc2 thanks buddy :) bit more progress for you guys removed chrome off the grill with thick bleach (you can use thin as well) does not harm plastic in anyway shape or form took over two weeks so you need to be patient.

Every three days or so you will need to use fresh bleach as its power lessens over time simply leave it floating in the bleach and you will end up with perfect plastic surface to spray onto. The chrome literally melts like putting an ice lolly into hot water.

Sprayed grill with Tamiya TS 52 candy lime green to give it spooky appearance to match lettering 8)

Primed and sprayed clod body Tamiya TS 52 black then posted body off to Jo Taylor www.aerograffiti.co.uk and she air brushed Clawing Dead lettering onto the doors for me. Sadly photos do not do the quality of work justice the lettering has really cool fading light green to dark green and dark green shadowing behind it. Photos do not show the sharpness of the lines either.

Jo then clear coated the entire body for me awesome job done by Jo very happy :) need to wait for clear coat to fully harden then I can re open body mount holes and mount body on the chassis.

Be patient body on shots to follow soon!

# Decals for super charger and reg' plate
# Custom roll bar and custom light bar
# De chrome wheels and have them hydro dipped candy lime green 8)

Thanks buddy :) I have lost count how many TXT/ Jugg based trucks I have owned over the years but its a lot. Sadly I am in the habit of building and then promptly selling so Clawing Dead is the only truck I have at the minute.

But I have an old school ladder style frame build in the works with full TXT-2 transmission installed so keep your eyes peeled build thread will be incoming

Yes I used thick bleach same method as de chroming the front grill simply get yourself a tall ice cream plastic box bung your wheels in and pour bleach in till they are fully covered.

After 24 hours turn them over then let them bathe another 24 hours chrome literally melts like an ice lolly in hot water no scrubbing needed whatsoever the bleach does all the hard work for you.

Bleach will not harm the plastic in anyway shape or form either :)

I just dropped four imex jumbo dimond rims in liquid bleach this morning, so far nothing they are black under the plated finish

maybe the liquid clorox brand is just not harsh enough, or the rims are made out of kriptonite

Ive never heard of using bleach, interesting idea. I use the extra strength oven cleaner spray. Spray it on and chrome is gone within 10-15 minutes. I don't believe it harms the plastic at all, I've done it on 3-4 sets of chrome clod rims and no issues.

Could be that the chrome on those wheels is very thick for instance took two and a half weeks! to de chrome the front grill and 48 hours with the wheels. Within minutes of sticking the wheels in bleach I could start to see the plastic underneath.

Maybe try oven cleaner method although I once used oven cleaner to remove paint off a midnight pumpkin body and the plastic melted!

Wow, really? As I said not sure if the oven cleaner harms plastic but I never had an issue. I usually spray the wheels and let it soak for about 5-10 minutes, then run them under water and the chrome is gone. Maybe if its left on for longer it can have some negative effects. I'll definitely try the bleach when I'm not in a hurry though.

I think it is down to the fact the plastic on the wheels is much tougher and the plastic on the body's quite soft compared to the wheels. Oven cleaner is great at stripping powder coating off metal surfaces such as solid links and the like just a side note to add.
