120A esc wih a 3000kv-4000kv 3660 (size) motor with a 5mm output.
You'll be able to beat on it all day and It wont break a sweat.

I use a Hobbywing EZRUN WP SC8 120A ESC with a 3000kv motor and a big pinion in my KK2.
Mega on 2s and plain silly on 3s.

i was looking into some from the Castle line-up. but wasn't sure on size (kv) of motor and all that i know with lipo stuff voltage is a big thing and not running the batteries down and want a setup that is per say "overkill" so it wont be working to hard to run the truck. but to my understanding the more (S 2s,3s, etc) is higher voltage which equals more KV output from the motor correct? like how some motors have a range of KV. i'm just trying to understand before i drop the coin on all this to make sure i get what i need. because another thing is about servo's and BEC's... i kinda just want a bomb proof setup that all i have to worry about is driving it and chraging the batteries lol

Just remember kv is rpm times volts. 3000kv with 7.4v lipo =22200 rpm
3000kv with 11.1v lipo= 33300 rpm

just about to pull the trigger on some electronics think ive settled on Tekin rx8 and a 2400kv motor. not sure on what pinoin size to try first thinking 9-14 tooth? also wondering what you guys were doing with the freestyle r/c trans having 6mm outputs vs the norm 5mm... was thinking of just machining out the center and calling it good on one side.

If you're running MIP drive shafts, you can just get the MIP 6mm ball ends to mate up to the Freestyle trans and the 5mm end will bolt right up to your axles. I'm not sure what the final drive ratio is like on a Freestyle trans so with a 2400kv motor your probably have to experiment with different pinions to see what speed/torque range you're happy with. My gut tells me a 9t pinion will be pretty slow with that 2400kv motor. Well, unless you run 3-4s lipo...

well here it is "Copperhead" one of the bodies i'm going to run on it

also got my electronics in!

went with a 14t pinion to try and see how the temps and everything go and also picked up some used rims and tires off FB for a good deal. its getting close!
