Boyer tube chassis
King Shocks
Clod wheels and Tires (for now)
Castle Motor and ESC
Freestyle Rc Trans
Axles are a Toss up (Diggers, Blackwells, Vanquish Curries)
Figuring the 80's chevy body or if wheelbase is to short using a Crew cab Chevy body.
not sure on reciever yet or steering servo
not sure on battery yet i'm assumin lipo and maybe 2s 5000mah?
links ill make myself and get the rod ends accordingly
excited to be getting back into the R/C world missed it let me know if anyone has feedback or suggestions.

I like this project and it will be sweet when finished. Just a thought on the axles and that is the width of them? It might not look right under that body depending on which ones you decide to choose.

I was thinking that also. I'm not sure what a "good" width is.SFC K wrote:I like this project and it will be sweet when finished. Just a thought on the axles and that is the width of them? It might not look right under that body depending on which ones you decide to choose.

Re: DirtyChevy's Project
Deciding on Axles has givin me such a headache....
Diggers- there scale looking like the way there servo mounts behind the axle, they are just so wide!! may have to modify offset on rims to bring them back inward a bit if possible. or find a company to make some i guess.
Blackwells- locked diffs and they are narrow just a bit wider than the body and with clod tires think would "fit" right... but steering is going to be a nightmare seeing how they were designed with on chassis servo steering
Curries- not really "scale" looking for a MT IMO. but there are alot of parts available for them and can lock and unloock the diff for running.
i plan on building more of a race clod later on with a different chassis but right now i'm torn between these ooptions.....
ugh

Re: DirtyChevy's Project
thinking i'm going to use the rc4wd diggers... i like the look of them and the ease of steering setup is nice. if they are extremly wide with rims ill have to some modifications but for the most part i think ill be happy with them. hopefully get them ordered here in the next week or so along with my trans... still thinking of using clod wheels and tires for now maybe some pro-line tires...

Re: DirtyChevy's Project
Also think I'm going to use a short course Silverado body. Figure with the wider axles and the MT look I'm going for it will fit better. Save the 80's Chevy body for a AR60 axle scale build. Make it more like my actual truck.
Once I get to work and can resize the pic I'll post one up of the body I'm thinking I'm gonna use.

Re: DirtyChevy's Project
okay changed my mind. ill be running this body instead. going to order it up tomorrow. with a wheelbase of the body at 12.9 i think a 13-13.5 wb for the truck would look good under here. and with the width will also look good.
rc4wd derlin black rims i'm going to be using with clod tires for now. still waiting to talk with john about the details of the chassis but should be ordering a few things in the AM.
