Good eye...I thought it would have been easier to spot, although Andy noticed the shock hoops. I missed them on the first set of pictures...They have been on the truck for some time. The ring's are new this year...I have some other ones too so I can change the look up.

They just blended in on me, I looked to see if they were a different color.....but then my color vision ain't perfect.....so if they are a different color....I can't see it.
Never thought about them being a different style of ring.
But I still guessed right the first time so.. :P ..

Some updates to my Honcho. I wanted to switch this over to brushless for some time now and found a good deal on a Novak Goat 3s 18.5T system. I had to solder some bullet connectors back onto the motor leads and a Dean’s connector on to the power cables which was pretty straight forward task.
Took the old stock Axial system out and started getting it all in place which was pretty easy. Wire management was a little trick but it all worked out and no wires are in jeopardy of getting nipped by the spur gear.

Had some issues with setting the Drag break and for some reason the ESC temp in full 100% mode was creeping up to 150 degrees. I had to run to the HS to pick up a fan for it and now it runs at a cool 74 degrees.

During my trial runs I am amazed at the wheel speed it has now. Much better than the stock set-up.

Here some pictures of how it looks and a video.

Here's a couple of new pictures while I am on vacation up on the north shore. These were taken on Palisades Head, MN. It's a really cool look out over Lake Superior. Hopefully I will get more pictures soon. Weather has not been all that good. :(

Maybe one of those for me in the future. I like the lights, sure does help with the scale look.

What a smart azz Andy is!! That step sure needed showing huh?? J/K!

I still have not bought one, When I do... the kit is the way to go. Extra hop ups included in the kit version. Make sure it is the most expensive kit. Well worth it. The Rubicon I think.

I still have my hybrid, and some older off road trail trucks. But a nice new SCX-10 would be great.

Have you done anything to it lately?

No I haven’t Dave. Just run it the way it is. I did swap back to the Flay Irons though. They do provide more side hill support. I do want to get a new cab for it and keep the rear portion. I thought about getting the F350 cab for it, but not really sure I like it that. Still undecided, but it is an option to keep the stock rear bed.

That new motor looks like it has lots of torque and speed.
What kind of run time does it get?

What battery and gearing?

It does Greg! I get some great run time out of it too. Almost an hour on my Nanotech 5700mah 2s lipo. Gearing is all stock 87t spur and a 14t pinion and is all original. Jeez, the whole drive line is all stock. Only changes were 4 link kit with all aluminum rods for linkage. The plastic stuff had to go.

You looking to get one?
