Bearings were indeed shot....
Motor all fixed now.

Another rough day though.... broke in the A-main.
Had a turnbuckle screw back out....... got back out there, but by that time my focus was shot and was all over the place.

Did not expect this..... ........... =D>
Sundays 2WD short course open (mod) A-main.
Most of the guys on that line-up are fast, and have beaten me before.
Today was my day. Consistancy (and yes luck too) paid off big time.

I didn't even know I won till it was over, I was just concentrating on my race-line and trying not to crash or get cought up on other's crashes.

3 seconds is pretty respectable. Congrats.

Nice job Andy! I'm confused on the race time though. Some drivers times are less than you with less laps. Does that mean they were done at that lap listed, but quit before you for overall time?

Finished a strong 2nd this week, and there was MUCH competition too. Led for part of it, but could not hold it (Heath is fast!).... My friend Trevor has an open class truck as well.... mid-motor durango with an 8.5T sensored system, his truck is a good 3-5 tenths faster, but I did better in traffic today. He caught up to me on the last lap, we battled.... I beat him.... holding onto 2nd place... it was almost as good as winning, as finishing ahead of him in this class does not happen too often.

Nice work Andy. Almost makes me want to join the local club! They race on Friday nights though about 50 minutes from where I live. And they only race on concrete. Thats 3 reasons for me not to join LOL

I need to take some pics, but much has happened. :)

I got the chance to sell BOTH my stock slash and rustler (converted to another stock slash).
Got a really good price and could not pass up the sale. (more on that in another thread)

The VXL system has been replaced by a sidewinder 3 and 4-poll 4600kv combo. Tranny has been swapped with the one from the rustler, which is slightly lighter, as it has the plastic diff case (gears inside are steel), and it also used the peg-style slipper clutch. Pro-track system from the rustler is now in place on this truck, and I got some new wheel+tire sets, AKA re-bars and j-concepts bar-codes.

So now I have a LOT of dialing in to do... as I've made so many changes all at once........ :-k

Oops, forgot about this....
I will take some pics I promise.... O:)

Yesterday was a wild ride and just goes to show.... never give up!
Spent the day chasing my set-up.... made progress, but still have much work to do. Missed out on 3rd in qualifying (it was close!)... then onto the A-main of SCT-open!

Trevor has been dominant, and today was no exception, as he and Brian were getting away from me. Then part way through.... Trevor fell victim to the age old "check-yer-nuts" curse that can ruin anybodies day. I will give him props though, as rather than waliking off with his truck, he put it to one side and pitched in with Marshalling. Now I'm chasing Brian and his truck is hooked better than mine. He fell victim to not shielding his reciever from the clay and his truck started cutting out. Now I'm in 1st with Phil (who beat me in qualifying) is giving chase.

Brian has momentarily recovered and is also gaining on me!

Brian's reciever gives it up again and I managed to out run Phil.
He crashed and I know it was because he was pushing too hard, but time was not on his side.

When the (clay) dust had settled, I had scored a victory, and it felt pretty darned good. :winner:

That is said sooooooo many times, usually right after a tires goes rolling, and that's just what happened.
He had taken that wheel off to adjust his ball diff, and forgot to use threadlocker afterwards.
One more reason I tend to shy away from ball diffs..... LOL....

I'm forever trying tire combos, this is pro-line bar-codes up front and hot bodies "mega bites" on the rear.
.....and yeah... the body is all beat to heck...

Truck was very consistent during the mains.

Attendance (and competition) at the track has picked up!
We are regularely having A, B, and C mains in 2WD short-course open/mod.

I ended up in the B-main, and managed to win it getting the bump-up to the A-main.
Image

I beat a lot of guys that qualified ahead of me in the A-main, I was in contention with 4th place for a while but could not hang on (had a crash), but at least did not lose a position.
