The new LCG chassis, traxxas 2.4 tx/rx, velineon brushless system, and not yet installed in this pic, GTR shocks from the slash 4x4 ultimate edition.
Rear tires are HPI BEAMS (soft compound) and traxxas BFG's up from that have been shaved for a back-cut.

Thanks!

This body is proving pretty popular at the track, lots of the guys liked it, although I did get grief for not painting it pink+purple like my other slash.... LOL

My first outing with this was actually quite a horrible adventure, as it was at a different track (ours was closed) and the truck was thrown together at the last minute. I should have just waited, as I had a horrible time with it.

This week I raced it at the local (as in next door) track and I did a little better, but I have LOTS of tuning to do. This truck did give me the highlight of the day though, as there was a re-sort in mod/open class, which essentially amounted to me running in the slower grouping. Meaning I had the ahem, fastest of the slow trucks....
However, the fact is.... I won my heat-2, and qualified for the A-main.... and winning feels good.

Next up will be installing pro-track shock towers and fabbing up a rear sway-bar.
I will also be taking the aluminum castor blocks and 1-deg rear carriers off of my rustler.
Eventially, when I'm ready to change my wheels, the pro-track arms will go on as well.

Nice!

Just be careful...the money pit Slash is an easy one to fall into.

Thank you, and yes it is. I'm being rather careful to only buy stuff that either I got a great deal on, or can use on something else in the future.

I lowered that body as it just looked waaaaay to high, it looks like an SC10 (stance-wise) now.
I dropped the rear body mounts by one set of holes, meaning that now there are only 2 screws holding it on, and used shorter posts up front.

That "Ah-Ha! moment" ..... we've all had one haven't we? (I've had more than I care to remember)
Getting ready to swap/upgrade the rear carriers on my SCT open truck..... the truck I have been struggling with from day one to make handle decent......
That's when I see it..... some dumb arse (me) put the lower pins in at different hights( left-vs-right).... no wonder it pulled and seemed off.. it was!

Got my first win Sunday!

Competition was a little thin Sunday, and I had some good fortune as well, still lots of work to be done with this truck.

Learned one thing though, soft springs in the rear = bad.
Handling got a lot better when I switched to the heavier set that I had.

Rough day yesterday.....

I went from a strong and competitave 2nd place showing (right on leader's tail) last week... to being all over the place this week.... and finally breaking on lap 2 of the A-main....

Servo went out.... lost steering... game over.... :(

What I didn't know till I did a tear-down today.... was that my motor bearings were shot!
This explans the odd behaivior (off throttle) and lack of speed/power it suffered too.

.....and to think, I almost put that servo in my stock slash (which won)...
It has a longer cord (currently using an extention wire in stock truck).... it's also my oldest servo and actually came out of the stock truck when the gears stripped. I had rebuilt it... and needed a servo when I put this truck together.

It's all repaired. :)

I'm in the process of selling my rustler off as a roller and just took the brand new 2075 servo I had in it for this truck, and my 2 new servo's just came, so I am set there.

Have not had time to open up the VXL and see if it's just bearings, so I pulled the one out of the rustler. Went over and ran a few laps, truck has all kinds of power again, in fact I think I may even gear it up.
