SFC K's HPI Blitz

Post by SFC K » Mon Oct 08, 2012 3:14 pm

I don't think I officially posted a thread for my Blitz that I won from RCCA.

So while I was on my deployment to Kuwait I brought this with for some casual fun and it took a beating in the conditions Kuwait had to offer. Although it took a beating it only broke once compared to the rest of my friends with the Traxxas vehicles. What broke? One ball cup is all on the rear arm which popped the universal out. Popped it back on and it was ready to go again.

So for upgrades I took out the stock radio gear and electronics and added a Futaba 2.4GHZ RX and added Novak Havok 8.5T brushless system, MIP universals, ESE ball cups, Duratrax Lock-up SC tires, new 20T pinion and complete HPI aluminum steering upgrade. I also have enough parts to replace everything with new except for the main chassis that I picked up over time.

This truck is fast and jumps superbly if you cut vent holes in the body to let the air to pass through, or it acts like a parachute. Although the parachute affect is not liked, I think it helps the truck land softer.

One with the pictures…

Ya, what the heck did you guys use that wooden ramp for? That thing is huge! Looks like a blast!

Now, its time to build one of those tracks near your place.

Thanks guy's! Yeah, the ramp was fun if you could get a decent straight run up too it. The ground there was pretty lumpy and made for some interesting approaches at decent speed...

I must say though the Blitz is one tough truck. Everyone was always having to carry their trucks back to our rooms after running. Not me unless a battery was gone...

I wish I had the room or equipment to make a track, but I don't...

Which one? The running track or the RC track? The RC track was fun to race around if you could get traction. What is sad is the Engineers totally re-did the track just before i left so i never got to run on it. They put in a sweet table top with a tunnel underneath...

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming to the Lord,
"Wow, What a ride!"

I took these yesterday to show you the amount of abuse this truck can take. Look at the front suspension...

That looks about right. These SCT trucks are usually pretty tough.
...I know most of mine end up looking like that. :-"

Now how many times did you try to thread the proverbial needle and stay on the power and go between them...
I know I would have tried it at least once.
