Not hardly, the clod is completely dominant in the snow, it's not even close, but I am trying to have fun with it. I've brought it to the indoor clay track every week so far. It's a LOT better suited to running on dirt than it is in the snow. Tires would help tho....

Thing is I keep looking at the 4x4 buggy conversion.......
For snow, paddles for sure. For everyday use the Mashers are ok. I had Trenchers on it before and they are a better all around terrain tire than the Mashers.

Andy, Drop a 3s in your Pede and you will be blown away from the difference of a 2s.

Is yours the newer 4-pole VXL? (this one is)
I have run a slash 4x4 with pede tires on it with 3S, and yes, it was amazing. I also had to run it with no body on it just to keep enough ventilation on the motor.... it was running pretty hot, but it was also the old 2-pole.

That said..... not sure it will stay an M/T.
Truggy or buggy is on my mind.... as I live next door to an indoor clay track.
Gonna try it with some of my SCT tires tomorrow.

Mine was a 2 pole, and it too ran hot. So I switch to a Tenshock 401sc 4 pole with Hobbywing wpsc8 ESC.

ramflames - How do you like the 3.2" rim/ 2.8" tire combo? I thought about trying it, just hate the thought of trimming and cutting on a brand new set of tires and wheels. Honestly though, if I go that route, im very likely to send the slash down the road and slap them on my 1/8 buggy with an MT body. That way you get a real driveline right from the factory and don't have to spend $100 on metal shafts to run 3s...

It's a pain to cut done the rims and trim the tires. Proline just released F11 2.8 wheels with a 17mm hex. One nice thing about cutting down the tires and taping the inside of the tire is no ballooning. The downside is less top speed when tires don't
balloon. But better handling, there is less give in the tires from a shorter side wall. Like most things. You give up something to get something.

I didn't know anyone was making 17mm 2.8 wheels now, that's great! I may eventually have to try a set. My Hot Bodies Ve8 is built like a tank and about the same wheelbase as the slash, so would look and work really good with an MT body and wheels

I put pro-trac offset SCT wheels and tires from my LCG slash on the pede today and ran MUCH practice with it at the track today. Was a little iffy with it at first and it was a tad tippy in some spots being narrowed up so much, but that also helped it "fit" in the lanes a LOT better and it was really hooking up around the track. Gonna see how low I can get the body, truggy-look is going to happen.

so here we go.....

Lowered by ditching the stock posts all together and using some rustler battery strap posts.

Here is what the truck looked like last Sunday, with the stock body position and SCT tires.

And here is what it looks like now. I like this a lot better. Not a fan of having the body mounted too high.

It actually looks really good with those tires and the body lowered. I bet it does handle pretty well. I kind of like the thought of racing one that actually looks like a truck and not a race machine, but still kicking butt with it

Thanks, I was beginning to wonder if anyone liked it like that or not. I'm hoping I can race it Sunday, but if not, I will practice with it for sure. I need to adjust the suspension down next.

I have no idea why Traxxas would place 3/4in extensions on top of what clearly is a good body height...
At least they're easy to remove! Looks great!
