Orange Offroader - Clod x Telluride Lovechild [WIP]

Although not considered a traditional monster truck, they still have monster coolness.

Orange Offroader - Clod x Telluride Lovechild [WIP]

Post by Luarana » Mon Dec 08, 2014 10:06 am

Hi all,

My new project using left over clodbuster shell and new telluride chassis.

Specs:
Standard Telluride Drivetrain + Powertrain
RPM Shock Guards
Traxxas Swaybars *Stiffer Rear*
Lowered Ride Height

Future Goals:
Upgrade Powertrain
Upgrade Shocks
Black Dye Chassis or Upgrade Chassis
Reduce Shock Travel *Any tips would be good* to prevent Chassis rub I'm about 5mm too low, i'd prefer to drop my shell even more if possible thou.

Yet to complete:

Rear Tray still needs to be coated with Bed Armor spray *the stuff they use on Utes* using a duplicolor variety.

Few extra coats of Orange + finishing coats of Clearcoat.

Recoat all "chrome" pieces. *Having some trouble getting a nice shine*

More pictures to come :)

Side View

Note: I think i've set my preload spacers all wrong. I don't know why the back is dropped so low.

I think the body is chassis is parallel but i dunno...

Can Anyone tell me a good setup for suspension??

I generally bash around not really huge jumps.

I prefer to slide around hence I'm sticking with the stocks for now until i can find a better replacement. As most aftermarket tyres are quiet soft and grippy. I've put a stiff rear sway bar and soft front swaybar. Considering running shorter shocks to reduce shock travel.

That's going to look pretty neat. As for the shocks, I think Id just run some tubing on the shafts to limit travel if that is what you want. Would be cheaper than buying new shocks anyways. What motor are you running, stock?
- Clodbuster with wheelie king chassis
Traxxas Titan 550 21t's w/14t pinions
EVX-2 Waterproof ESC
- Brushless Traxxas Stampede 2wd
- Brushless Associated MGT
- A few Nitro's, a few Stadium Trucks, and a couple 1/8 Buggies too

I am really liking how this looks, it seems perfect for a clod body to be a mud truck.
This would look mean with the proline super swampers on it.
