The two battery chargers I have didn't come balance leads. One has the balance sockets built in, but the other didn't come with a board either. They both came with an assortment of actual charge leads though. I think they were deans and adapters to tamiya etc. If it's just the balance leads that you don't have you can still charge the battery, just not balance charge it. The leads are usually dirt cheap on eBay.

seems that the balance plug is the charging plug. i am new to lipo batteries and don't want to have any issues like ruined battery or catch the house on fire.

There's 2 sets of leads. A battery plug looking set and a balance board. On most chargers both need to be plugged in to balance charge a lipo battery.

On some chargers the balance board is built right into the side of the charger.

Ran my first Lipo Battery pack this weekend and wow! i ran an all stock clodbuster only barrings were upgraded, in thick grass, and all i can say is i have been missing out. i did not keep track of how long it ran but it was more then 20 minutes seemed like more then 30 minutes. after running NiCd that lasted 5 minutes or less in thick grass this seemed unreal.

The other thing to remember with Lipo batteries is not to run them dead. Setting the ESC to Lipo mode or simply installing a low voltage alarm will do the trick, if you haven't done so already.
