Pro-Line Brawler 2.6'' wheels on Wild Dagger WR01 Chassis?

Post by The Knight » Sun Oct 02, 2016 4:53 pm

Pro-Line offers Clod 2.6'' wheels or brawler wheely with +17mm Offset.

Have anyone tested these rims on a stock Wild Dagger, Blackfoot 3 or WR01 Chassis? I really want to know if this fits good.

(and drive good?)

That is a good question. As you know, I use the Wheelie King wheels and tires on mine with 12mm??? extensions. If those fit, I would prefer them so I don't have to use those extensions. I hope some knows if they will.

I use the same tires but i mean Pro-Line 2.6'' brawler rims. This is clod buster size. stock clod rims don't fit, but the pro-line ones have +17mm offset.

But I forget: the tamiya alloy axles are 5-7mm to short...
Someone have clod rims on new axial SMT10 truck... I must google what they have done...

When I built my monster wraith I used TTR wideners.

I have a set of the Brawler wheels. I should try them on this and see how they fit. I'm not sure why I didn't think of this before. I will let you know how they fit. they are the 17mm offset versions as well.

So, bad news. The rims fit and will turn without binding. The problem is finding a stub axle long enough to thread a nut onto it to tighten down the wheel. Another problem and it is miner is the hex nut that drives the wheel has a little lip in it that fits into the Brawler wheel. I tried using an aluminum hex from my SCX but they have to step ups. I think you would need a longer stub axle and a drive wheel hex that has the step up to fit the inner wheel hex solid.

I must say though, the wheel look awesome on it if you can make it work.

That's wondeful! I have super Blackfoot Axles, which are 7mm longer than stock axle. But I see and know 7mm are not enough. I could use this http://store.rc4wd.com/1x-M4-x-21mm-Bar ... p_515.html but I don't know if this works stable.

Edit: Error. Super Blackfoot axles are 7mm longer but not the M4 thread. Thread is same size as stock. :-k
I ask me how people do this on their SMT10 truck?! :?:

if you can find the barrel nut that fits properly, it should work out fine. I don't know how hard I would drive it but it should be strong enough to cruise around and do some light terrain.

hard terrain or jumps isn't a problem. But steerring. WR01 Steering isn't the best. I often read after clod-convertion it wasn't possible to steer. a stock WR01 is also hard to steer, if the motor is faster than stock.

What about a set of jconcepts tributes? They have the large offset adapter for the smt-10 and I think the axle will have plenty of threads to attach
