Ok so I now have everything for the truck except a body (which I already know which one I will use) and electronics. I have the motors, but my esc burnt up so I have to send it in to be repaired. I also need to send the chassis and parts to be anodized. Already talked to Mike Hesse about it.

I have CPE upper 4 link mounts, Emaxx shocks although these might get changed, New era or ESP front and rear aluminum bumpers with built in servo mounts, making custom electronics tray, old rc10 battery cups, and CPE servos.

After seeing TamiyaTony's truck I have felt the need to get going on the truck again.

I also have picked up and old Bowtie and Chevrolet tailgate stocker that I am going to use as a donor for my Sassy Chassis.

I also got everything I need to get my stock super clod chassis together and improved for my daughter to drive while I drive the Zilla.

I also picked up a Groundpounder that I am going to drive while the zilla is being finished.

I am rearranging things in the house to give me an area to be able to work on my rc's. Right now I work on them on the floor. Now I'll have a large white table, and I will be getting a couple vises that clamp onto the table so I can work on things. Looking forward to finishing the truck now. I had to let go of the fact that the Zilla 2 will not be what I originially had envisioned for it. It ust isn't that type of truck, but it is a great truck in it's own way.

I'll have a CPE Predator chassis when I build the truck I want for racing.

The Sassy Chassis clod will be my real build truck that is all out in my way.

My Zilla 2 will be my basher, but it won't be the average basher. It'll be a basher with a racing attitude.

Yup. It wont be a build up like you did on the blue truck, but I have an old Sassy Chassis I got from Charlie and I will build a custom old school truck with that. I have my Parma Hemi motor to go in it and I'll be getting some of the upgrades you got.

It's about time you used it. Been waiting almost a year to see a build with it.

Well it's time for a much needed update.

I tore the axles apart and cleaned them really good, re-lubed the gears, and installed new bearings.

Found out that I CVD's front and rear when I thought it was only in the front. I got a good deal on these axles off ebay.

So far the zilla has the following.

Clodzilla 2 chassis kit
Clodzilla sway bar kit
ESP aluminum twin tube bumpers front and rear
JPS steering knuckles on the front
Thundertech ball diff in front axle
Unknown brand locker in rear
Thundertech CVD's front and rear
Ball bearings in axles
JPS aluminum bumpers with built in servo mounts
Hot Racing shock mounts
Unknown brand lower shock mounts/4-link mounts
allen head screws replacing the phillips head screws
CPE hi torque servo with Ofna servo saver front and rear
will have a custom servo saver on rear to limit the travel of the servo.

I figured out the problem Iwas having with my axles not lining up correctly. I had CPE upper 4 link mounts on the truck and that was causing the problem. I might use them later on, but I will have to figure out a higher mounting position for the links on the chassis. They were way too low for the links to work properly with the CPE mounts.

I'm not sure which body to use yet. I really like the 1979 Ford Extended cab hi boy like Budha has on his truck.

However I have been building this Zilla as a throwback racer with a few upgrades. For the most part it will be period correct of the early 90's, but with modern brushless power and a few newer type upgrades.

So that has me stuck with a couple other options. I have that old gravedigger body that I painted in '95 waiting for a Clod to put it on or I can go with an old Dahm's Slammer XL8 that I just won on ebay last week. It's an old 1/8 scale race truck body with a Ram grille. It's sleek and sweet. Kind of reminds me of the body that ESP used in the Clodzilla 3 magazine ads. I will make a decision once I get the body here.

What's left now is:
aluminum parts anodized or powdercoated
Purchase Castle Creations Sidewinder SV3's when they come out
Pick up two new 5500mah 3s Gens ace batteries
decide which tires to run. The stock tires with some wideners or Ofna Titan tires with wideners
Decide on which body to use and then have it painted
Fabricate an electronics plate and a battery plate

It's coming along nicely now and I feel pretty confident that the truck will be a good handling powerhouse. I can't wait to get it going and on a track. It sits pretty low for a Zilla 2 and the sway bars should help keep it planted in the turns.
