Death of a Clod

Post by Ted's RC » Sun Jul 12, 2015 11:18 pm

Hi Everyone,

I think I killed my clod! But the good news is I can do a full teardown and rebuild. Perhaps even a reincarnation into a different beast!

Thought we were gonna see the smoke billowing out at the end there, I take it all is fried?
Still, easy enough to rebuild a clod. :)

It was weird. Forward worked. But reverse didn't work and that where I saw a little bit of smoke and pulled the plug. Sorry to disappoint, but if there is a chance of a resurrection I had to pull the power asap. Yes it's easy to rebuild, but always conscious of the $

Just pulled out the camera to demonstrate, but the opposite happened. Reverse working ok. Forward not ok. I'll open up the ESC and let it dry out thoroughly and then see where i stand.

Take the esc out and put it in a bag of rice. The rice will pull the moisture out of the esc.

Thanks for the tip Andy. I did this for a few days but without any result. I've emailed Novak to ask about a repair option but haven't had a reply. There are $10 320A esc on eBay which I might try in the meantime. I could even run one for each end and mix with the radio and it would be a cheap solution to get back on the dirt.

Sorry for your loss

On a positive note, great video. What a great, scenic place to wipe out a truck...LOL

It's not WHAT toys you play with, but that you play with toys at all that is important.

Hah yes I'm spoilt. That is about a 10 minute walk from the front door!

I received a reply from Novak and it's all bad. No support for disco'd products, so back into the rice tub it goes while i wait for a replacement!
