New clod vids!!!

Post by andymac0035 » Tue Mar 01, 2011 11:48 pm

Oh yes......we've seen this before, but this is the deepest snow I've tried yet, a foot of fresh fluffy powder.....on top of what we already had for snow......could not quite break all the way through.....

Having some fun after the rescue.....

And then.....3 more inches of snow on top of all that......and yet.....

Finally! Success!!!!!.....only to high-center it afterwards......LOL

Let me tell ya' driving and filming at the same time ain't easy.
......And you would not believe how many attempts this took. I ran two sets of batteries out Saturday making the "launch pad" and trying to break through the bottom of the snowbank.....just not my day......1st set of batteries on Sunday, grooming the ramp (it had become a "wall") at the bottom, and I had it . Any deviation from the trail I broke after this though.......resulted in instant stuckage. Not all fluffy snow is created equal......but it was very satifying to finally "break through".

.......and if you want to see the bloopers.....well.....maybe I'll load those too....maybe....

Have you tried the Onyx motors yet?
I used to think I was indecisive, but now I'm not so sure.

Nope. I am saving those for summer and speed-bashing.
I do need to solder up some wires and such to them though, and test them.
I'll be doing the water break-in most likely.

I just got a pair of x-star motors too. No idea how many turns though, and they are used.
Chris got monster trinity 27t in the same parts lot. The reverse rotation one was no good.......but the normal rotation one was..... when I cleaned and tested it for him. I suspect not all 27t motors are created equal. What ever he sticks that one in should fly!

I'm guessing you liked the vids?

Me? No, I hate vids! Sis is sucking up the bandwidth at the moment, so no vids for me. I saw the first one as you plowed into the bank. Just a little more speed next time.

In that snow no matter what RC you have (aside from a blizzard maybe) there was no little more speed lol to much snow got pushed up in front of axles :/ and today we were playing with losing our clods out in no mans land lol there was a thinnn layer of ice on top of the snow and one false step and our clods were stuck ;) The parts lot Andy is talking about I bought on a whim, 100 bucks for a bunch of stuff, the two motors I traded him for his SC-10 roller (along with 2 3000 mah batts) umm 4 clod tires on rims, a xl1 traxxas esc wow that is old lol my 2 motors and a few other things oh 1 complete axle and one umm apart :P but I only wanted it for the gears anyway so I could get my zilla running ok I'm done hijacking :D
Wait what?

TomT. Someone on here has already done that. I can't remember who it was. Might have been kredfern. I think it was a couple of years ago. Anyways he used to put a lot of vids up.
