The R/C Barn, Canaan, NH

Post by andymac0035 » Sat Oct 12, 2013 7:58 pm

This is my new favorite spot to go to, my local track: https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Barn/300840908803

If you live in or near the upper valley area of NH or VT, this is a fun place to check out, and since it's indoors, they run year-round, rain or shine.

Never thought I would care about racing till I tried it.

Got 2nd in the stadium truck class with a pede' 2WD, and 1st in SCT 4WD open with a slash 4x4.

Light crowd this week, I'm sure I'll have me hands full when the house is packed like it was last week.

Racing always seemed like it wouldn't be very fun being in a confined space and all. Then when I tried it a few years ago and I was hooked since it was the challenge and competition that was the fun part.

Wow I wish we still had tracks like that around here. I suck at that type of racing, but it was always fun to try...or smoke my motors. :) We have one local shop looking to build another track, but it will be small. I might snag another buggy or stadium truck to run there if they do.
Chuck Norris and Mr. T walked into a bar. The bar was instantly destroyed, as that level of awesome cannot be contained in one building.

We are pretty lucky where I am. We have an off road indoor track that is open year round and only 5 minutes from my house. An outdoor off road track with an outdoor dirt oval about 20 minutes away. Then an indoor carpet offroad track an hour away and two on road outdoor tracks an hour the other direction. The only real complaint is that we don't have any 1/8 scale tracks.

Looks like you have found your sweet spot. I so wish I had something like that near me.

It has been a few days since I have checked in  , I see everything here is going well.

How often do they race and how do you like it Andy? Any perks or prizes?

I try to go every Sunday.
No perks really, although from what I understand, the points series winners do get trophies.
I just enjoy the racing and the people.

I would enjoy the racing as well, everything else is a bonus. Any video of you/races at the track?

I have the exact same truck, minus the body paint. You are going to enjoy it. You will need some tweaking of the stock shocks, maybe limit the travel a small tad.

Double check the shock oil, and don't be afraid to go with some heavier oil up front. What power system will you be using?

I love that track, looks like a good time to be had by all.

That does look nice Andy and it is not in your usual color too. I like the color scheme, but did you buy it that way or did you paint it?

BTW, swap those tires. They are junk...
