25th Annual Super Pull in Franklin PA

Post by Budhatrain » Thu Mar 07, 2013 3:13 pm

WOW what a cool weekend! The rumors are true, this is one of those "gotta go to race events." I appreciate the time and energy that Darren, family and friends invested into this project- bravo. My wife and I had a great time and will instantly sign back up for next year! Because of this event, my wife wants to join me for "Springs" so I am excited about that...

I had the privilege to just hang out with a first class group of guys (and gals). If you have never had the experience of having a race handed to you by a little sweat heart girl, you need to race against Cierra :) But racing with Scott, Mike, Matt, Phil, Jose, Chad's Dad-- his brother, uncle, cousin, neighbor and plummer... Derrick (not associated with Chad's dad I think) and the list goes on. We did a lot of laughing and no sour attitudes- everyone supported each other to race to top of their game. Great turnout for the event, I think somewhere close to 85+ racing entries. Plenty of wheel time.

I was a little sad that I had to leave Saturday night and miss the eliminations on Sunday but that is life in my neck of the woods. I took some pictures early on and then got caught up the rest of the day and forgot about it. There was a tremendous support from companies and individuals... all the giveaways, raffles, door prizes and awards was very cool. I want to give a special thanks to RC4wD and CowRC for their support for me and being major supporters for the racing!

Awesome pics Mike! Looks like you had a really great time. I sure wish that events like this were held closer to the MN.

I noticed that red and white flamed truck in the second picture had the body on backwards with the wheels mounted the same way. Do you know why it was set up that way? Seems odd.

I alos noticed some trucks had tape on the outside front tread. I suppose this helps with traction rolling in the corners?

Those tires on Metal Milissha look awesome shave like that. hmmm.

It really was a good time, if it wasn't for these races I couldn't justify owning clods.

Red and white flamed 4x4 PEDE- body isn't mounted backwards, before the 4x4 came out that's how you made one-- with two PEDE rear ends and one flipped.

The one truck you saw with tape was Jose- that's how he choose to free up some traction in the front end. It's just preference with the NRCTPA you are not supposed to use simple green or tire compound so people get creative haha

If you were up for a road trip you might want to consider the spring or world comps one time.

:( They never have anything like this near me. I would like to take the Firetruck or tow truck to one of these and just drive it around the place. or just set it up for people to look at.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming to the Lord,
"Wow, What a ride!"
