Retro Clod Racing?
Retro Clod Racing?
Quick question:
I saw a cool article/series of entries on RCSoup about retro Clod racing. THAT looks awesomely fun. Does anyone do that? If so, are there any organizations that do it on the West coast? I have not been able to find any info on RC monster truck racing out in Southern Cal. Anyone know of some, or any other So Cal folks here interested in starting it up?

I do not know of anyone out west. MI, IL, VA, PA, NY and FL. Keep looking around the site here and rcmt.net

I would love to have a group of racers here in the High Desert area of Oregon. Lots of sand, loose dirt, and open area to run.

We will be starting something here in Ohio this year. Just need to raise money for timing system. You're actually not that far from me and I travel to western PA just past youngstown to race and just north of Toledo in MI to race.RcTommy wrote:Id like to start one here in ohio. Don't forget, the NR/CTPA Spring Nationals in May and World championships in Oct. are held in Ohio every year.Budhatrain wrote:We will be starting something here in Ohio this year. Re: Retro Clod Racing?
yeah we are halfway between Columbus and Cleveland. You should look into the IL racing series and also the racing in Michigan just north of Toledo in Monroe. We have guys that come from Chicago that make the Michigan races.
Also like Thunder Tech VP mentioned... the nrctpa national races happen right in your neighborhood in Holiday City Ohio right next to the border there! Spring and World Nationals.

Re: Retro Clod Racing?
Im pretty excited by the idea of getting some organized races here in Ohio going. Do you know of others who are interested and have a rig? I currently have a retro and my cpe so it would be cool to have multiple classes. I went ahead and ordered a body for my terminator yesterday more fitting for racing also I will be ordering a new set of rims with racing tires (I think the mud slingers might be a bit heavy) in a week or so. So yeah I'd say I'm pretty stoked

Re: Retro Clod Racing?
I think there is enough to get something going- I can say 6-10 people in this area. So I think it's time to strike while iron is hot. First thing is getting a timing system with a light tree. So I am going to put motion into that first... I potentially have a venue we can use- open warehouse- just need to check on heat. But the timing system is the big hurdle really.
