Royal Crusher

Post by Sixtys Guy » Sat Jul 29, 2017 11:24 pm

Anyone remember this one? I really wanted one in the late 80's, just because it was cheap and had 4ws. They didn't even sell them in Aus so I had to settle on a Blackfoot

Being honest I have never even heard of this make or model imagine how rare these must be and the chances of someone having one of these NIB? I think we need unicorns unicorn status for this truck!

Oh, I remember the Royal Crusher. I also have that issue of RCCA (I remember getting a kick out of the cover saying "bad Halgars trucks are cooler than mine Lunch Box). They actually made the truck seem ok in that article. Royal stuff wasn't exactly considered top shelf. Trust me, you made out far better by getting a Blackfoot. The Royal Ripper (coined the Royal Rip-off) that the truck was based on was a rough Hot Shot knock off with the one distinct feature of being 4ws. I believe Royal offered a 4wd conversion kit (basically the front drive guts that they left out from the 4wd Ripper). From memory, my friends and I used to find the huge air gap between the body and chassis somewhat amusing for some reason.

LOL, yeh in hindsight it was pretty crap! I had a lot of fun with the Blackfoot, wish I still had it, or even some photos!
