Post by andymac0035 » Mon Jun 05, 2017 1:59 pm

**** POLL IS UP! VOTE FOR THE TRUCK YOU LIKE BEST!****

We are going to have a special throw-back edition for July's Truck of the month!

Special rules for this month only!

-You must have owned the truck you enter. The idea here is trucks we no longer have, but remember fondly.

-post only needs to be one pic, but can go as high as 3 pics.

-please post a description, and if you have a build thread please include a link to it.

-It must be a monster truck, any axle-type is okay, but it MUST be a monster truck with big fat tires.

-we can have as many as 10 entries this month.

-and that's it....... so lets see those trucks from your past!

This could be fun.

Here is my Grave Digger. It was a Clodzilla IV- Juggernaut 2 hybrid.
Clodzilla IV suspension with Juggernaut 2 transmission and axles, with a combo of both for the chassis.
Sees aluminum wheels
Novak Super Rooster ESC
Tamiya light kit
This is the only picture that I have of it.

I still have the body. Painted the flames myself. The headlights were some thing I found at RadioShack.

My fondest memory and favorite truck of all 70 trucks I've built is hands down my very first kk2. This one holds a special place because it wound up in RCCA's readers rides for my first ever entry! I can always build another but it will never be the same.

This is my ol' super clod, the truck that I kept re-building (and kabooming). It got me the nick-name "captain ka-boom!"
I learned all about dual-brushless and breaking parts with this truck.... :explosion:

At it's fastest (36 mph), it sported dual sidewinders with 6900kv motors and ran on a pair of 2S lipo's (1 for each system).
It ran on a stretched chassis made from 2 stock tubs and had dual battery trays.
It was 4-linked, and had pro-line giant trac tires mounted on juggernaut wheels.
Body was a pro-line F-650.

AWESOME IDEA!!!

while i didnt build it, i did own it...body was traded off and parts repurposed for other projects...

there was a build thread done on it in rcmt, but i cant find it at the moment...

JPS "pro" chassis- longer cantilevers and different bottom mounting points for the 4-link...
full JPS gearcases (the later versions where the motors were on the same side so you didnt need to reverse the rotaion), axles, knuckles, bumpers etc.
proline boulder holder body
nitro usa 1 tires for the front, and imex tires in the rear.

This one is 25 or so years old. I built it for an RCCA article way back when. I no longer have the truck. It was parted out for two other special-build Clods (Toxic Avenger and Big Tow 6x6x6) I did that also appeared in RC magazines. Basically stock except for the Sassy Chassis, shocks, and chrome bits. Splitting the hood was done with a Dremel saw (getting the hinge correct was a giant PIA). Hope you like it.
