^^That's actually a pretty good idea. Kind of like an online cars & coffee meet. We could call something like Clods & Coffee and do it on Saturday mornings. It would be one thread, where all who show up can chat and post pictures and such. And maybe during the chat session, a topic or build may strike enough interest to have its own posting.

Not only Newbies, but "oldies", as well do forget the basic what how and when to do or not to do. I can always google, but often it is tough to search where or from whom can I get parts need to complete/update the project. Also "how much should I pay', what should i be looking at, is it worth getting, so on and so forth.

Oh yeah, we all know that 99% of the basic information have been discussed so many times over and over. But that's how it is, and Newbies and Oldies will come for as long as the feel they get their fill from the specialised forum. Anyway, these are some of the honest reasons why I come back. If i'm working on a project and parts I can't find, I'll come back becasue I can find the answer here, Or if not guys here are more than happy to help. That surely will make me come back more often and help ireintroduce, build-up, and sustain interest in Clods amount oldies and newbies in my part of the RCWorld. . Oh yeah, if I can find parts needed here to complete my build, especially the hard to find, i'll be coming more regular than I thought I would. Clods are fun, and hopefully the next generation will find then as precious to own and fun to build and play, as well. CHEERS!

Good morning from Buffalo New York. I know most of you do not know who I am. I know most of New people look and review all of my postings within the years that I have not been on here because I resumed my professional driving career. But I am back home and I’m going to be driving local. No wheelchair vans. I’m still gonna be pulling a trailer but I won’t be a 53 foot. Won’t be a over the road truck but I daycab. But I am coming back into the hobby. Doing my homework and research on what products they are out and what is a very good choice of shocks esc batteries ext ext....

Just my 2 cents:

I'm glad to be here and thankful this site is still up and running after all these years; thanks to the many dedicated hobbyists that have put their blood sweat and tears not only into their builds but also into documenting their projects from start to finish =D> . It is a HUGE resource for members and non-members both new and old. Fads come and go but the Clod is an icon that has lasted the test of time. I do not do the social media thing (thinking of starting for the sake of my business though) but I do get how the in-your-face nature of the constant push updates can draw the masses in to follow and subscribe on a daily basis. Sadly, I don't even have a Clod anymore (haven't since my childhood many moons ago now) but what keeps me coming back is the updated posts...more specifically the Clod of the Month. This lets everybody know that if they check in at least once a month there will be a new Clod to admire.

Fresh updates will keep the masses coming back, just as inactivity leads to demise. Facebook and the social medias of the world have mastered the art of capturing an audience and keeping that audience coming back for more. It's a rather simple concept: when you go to a website or app and find something new that excites you, you will return for more. This is your feel-good Serotonin being released in your brain giving you a natural high. If you do not find something new and exciting, you do not have that Serotonin high, but rather the opposite effect - a down feeling similar to a state of depression from the let down of disappointment. It is all our responsibility to keep checking in regularly and more importantly to keep posting valuable content if we want this to stay afloat indefinitely. If we do not then it is sure to die a slow and painful death.

I think the Clod Coffee Talk idea is a great way to keep things fresh and active. Everyone seems to love the FaceTime/YouTube live feeds today...maybe we can create that same vibe here with this concept. Even if all members can't make it on for the live forum, it will give them something to read up on later at their leisure (like DVR is for your favorite shows)

Cheers
