Whats your number...

Post by Sypher » Wed Jul 18, 2012 2:46 am

Thinking back over all the RC's I have had something occurred to me. I have only owned two that were new out of the box. My very first RC(out of the box) was a clod that I accidently on purpose bought on the bay and still have. The second out of the box was a Venom Mini Giant which has been long ago traded off but wish I still had. So how many Rc's have you all been the first owner of?

Both my clods and the Tmaxx were NIB when I bought them. The HiLux and Fox were a garage sale find.
I used to think I was indecisive, but now I'm not so sure.

3 different RC10Ts This was my first foray into the rc world and literally drove them to pieces.
Original HPI RS4 touring car, again driven till it fell apart.
Bolink Rail Drag Car, lost control and destroyed the chassis.
Tamiya TT01 touring car, traded for a clod.
RC10B3, traded for a RC10T3.
HPI RS4 3 18SS touring car, traded for a clod.
Tamiya Clod Buster, still own turned into a crawler.

I believe that should be it in chronological order~

Tamiya Grasshopper
Tamiya Bruiser
Kyosho Turbo Ultima
Tamiya Clod Buster

These were all from back in the 80's, I didn't start buying/trading for used stuff till I got back into the hobby in like 2010.

Tamiya Super Clod Buster
Traxxas BOSS 302 Mustang

All the other stuff I've gotten was used, and most of them were trades.

I *think* my number is 11, going all the way back to 1985:

Tamiya TLT
Tamiya Lunchbox
Tamiya Midnight Pumpkin
Tamiya Clodbuster
Marui Big Bear
Traxxas T-Maxx
Traxxas Slash (2)
Duratrax Maximum ST

The overwhelming majority of my RC's have been used though.

Including the ones we got for the kids or built with the kids (as they never chipped in a dime!!), I've purchased seventeen NIB 4-wheeled, ground-based RC's... used would easily triple that number (if not more, but don't tell the wife! ).

1980's [Three]- Associated RC10, Tamiya Hotshot, Tamiya Grasshopper

This century [Fourteen]- Traxxas Rustler (1st gen), 2 Hot Bodies Lightning (1/8 buggy), 3 Traxxas Slashes, 2 Venom Creepers, RC10B4.1, 3 Micro-Ts, Lunchbox re-re, Frog re-re
