What do YOU do all day at work??

Post by sacky07 » Thu May 17, 2007 7:25 pm

Just wondering what people do all day at work, other than get on clodtalk. Me, I'm a CAD designer in a pattern shop, specifically a "pattern-maker". (No, not quilts), sand casting patterns. So what DO you do all day???
...Good Day!

Changes from day to day, week to week.. Some days I sit around and do nothing, and gripe about how I could be doing the same thing at home...

Other days (like today) I did pre-op checks on a 25 foot patrol boat. Fun to cruise up a body of water with twin 225's screamin at 40+kts.

Some days I train others in the operations of different sorts of weaponry. Or burn off a few hundred rounds of 7.62mm or .50cal ammuniton. Sometimes 40mm grenades.. Do small arms marksmanship training, depending on schedule.

Other days I'm guarding assets.

Some days I help in the relief effort after a major natural disaster (Katrina '05)

Some days I'm riding a ship (and providing onboard security for) with billions of dollars of equipment, that is headed over to a hot spot in the world.

For about 180 days I stood guard on an Oil Terminal in the "Gulf".

Just a full time U.S Navy Military Policeman.

I produce Junk mail at a printing company all day. I run the biggest stitcher in our company. A 850 Harris 5-knife stitcher with like 27 pockets. Takes up half the building in length. Kind of small, but we are ranked #81 out of 150,000 printing companies in North America.

I'm a plumber for one of the local school districts. I repair, replace, and remove any of the plumbing systems on over 162 different campuses. It's not glamorous, but the scenery always changes, you are not stuck indoors all the time, and you get plenty of exercise.

What do you do all day at work

I am a retired firefighter. I broke my neck in a building colapse in 1990.
Luckily I wasn't left with any major damage but had to retire just the same.

I then went to work for a company for eleven years grading cities and towns fire and building departments. We sold this information to the insurance industry and that is how your home fire insurance rates are established.

Now I live on two acres and it's a full time job trying to keep the weeds under control. (lol)

thanks for asking :D
Trucks, can't have too many.
