 NEED A BEC
I need a good BEC for my crawler and im new to this and i dont know what i need. i was told to get the castle. I have the crawler Rooster ESC and the Novak 55's motors. the red wire is cut to the ESC so i have to use a BEC. any help well be appreciated.

 Re: NEED A BEC
yep the castle is the one to use..it will give you as much volts as your servo can take and it puts out 5amp constant 10 amp peak..it will have a default setting of 5 or 5.5v, if you have a castlelink you can go to 6v or more depending on your servo..you could also use a rx pack from a nitro if you have one to get you going in the meantime..it,ll probable run you 20-25 bux and they are redilly available at the lhs ..if your not running a hot servo you might be able just solder on a new red wire with the little metal plug on the end..usually i dont cut the red wire i just pull it out of the plug and tape it up..the novak has a not too bad built in bec..about twice the power of a mamba so if you just running i servo it might be just enough..what servo/s

 Re: NEED A BEC
ok i think you posted pics awhile back..some really kick Halgars trucks are cooler than mine servo,s there..definatly need a bec are you gonna go lipo..if so you could definatly try some of the cheaper lipo,s out there like turnigy or zippy,s..i,ll give you a link to hobby city..massive seection of lipos in pretty much every size and config..in your case 2s with the rooster crawler..its a matter of the space you have to work with..i think the cheaper lipo,s are fine as long as your not putting huge loads on them and a crawler setup will be ok with these..go for 20+c rating i use 2200 up to 4000mah to keep the weight down..i like to mount them usually on top of the skidplate..heres a link to the batts http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/stor ... All+brands)&idCategory=86&ParentCat=85 i usually use flightpower pack as they were the shiz when i bought them and the sizes worked for me, also have some hyperion pack that i,m not too sure about..charge real quick but seem not to be very well matched..cells which is pretty important with lipo,s, also have a few turnigys and are fine..if your running nmh i dont really know anymore as i dont run them anymore

 Re: NEED A BEC
im thinking of going lipo. the space is limited. also look at the ESC and the wire they cut is a jumper. so i can get a new one at the lhs. it also says if im going to use lipos to use 2 lips cells. is that two of them?

 Re: NEED A BEC
a 2s pack means 2 cells or 7.4v,,each cell is 3.7v instead of 1.2 like a nmh
