Re: So what's everyone up too?

Thats awesome! So my next question is does this system keep track of how many times a user uses the swear word manipulator?

Re: Selling many many clods.

I saw a photo of that somewhere, too. Not on eBay though?!? I had wondered why it had twin ESCs. That is really cool!

Re: New [to me] SCX10

So I made some progress on this rig. I have to admit, its a neat vehicle, but that driveshaft angle really makes me scratch my head. Seems like it could have been engineered a little better, but I guess it works. So I had swapped the steering bar to the underside of the knuckles for more clearance, ...

Re: Lipo Battery and charger??

The other thing to remember with Lipo batteries is not to run them dead. Setting the ESC to Lipo mode or simply installing a low voltage alarm will do the trick, if you haven't done so already.

Re: steering trouble

There used to be some upgrade options for the stock clod steering, I'm not sure what all is available now because I think the best option is to ditch the stock clod steering. Plus, steering all 4 of those tires with just one servo, is a lot to be asking of that one servo. And the stock servo savers ...

Re: New [to me] SCX10

I made some progress on the rig this morning, unfortunately no photos :| . I moved a crossbrace and relocated the steering link to the underside of the knuckles, and even though the link to the servo is not level now, everything clears the framerails. :D I mounted a servo, and now the battery tray h...

Re: DirtyChevy's Project

I'm starting to think that I need to make my next project, after my SCX10, a tube frame truck. Your trucks looks fantastic! What is your wheelbase? It looks perfectly proportioned.

Re: Traxxas XL-5 esc and tamiya motor

The XL-5 has had a few versions, so you may need to be careful with how many volts you put into it if you're not sure which version it is. I have several of them, and mine are only rated for 2s, or 7.4v. They are very capable ESCs and work fine with dual motors, but I was a little disappointed in th...

Re: New [to me] SCX10

I've seen your thread and am actually going to study it again. I'll look for the other. This front suspension really has me scratching my head, with the seeming lack of travel and interference of the steering under compression. I also forgot that the front driveshaft rubs the links during certain wa...

New [to me] SCX10

So I finally acquired a trail rig. I did some trading and got an SCX10. I'm not sure of the exact model because the friend I got it from got it from someone else. Its in good shape and has some bumps and bruises, but overall I'm happy with it. I'm currently in the process of mounting an '08 F250 bod...

Re: Best Bang for Buck Clod ESC

So as of right now, I will recommend the cheap Asian ESC. On 3s, this clod really scoots! It almost does wheelies upon takeoff. The only limiting factor are the 30 year old tires ability to grab sufficient traction. Did some hard running yesterday for 10 minutes and motors and ESC were only warm. Pl...

Re: The Clodtalk August 2017 Truck of the Month Contest!!!

I got some better photos up, though maybe not fast enough. Shark week was on and I forgot to upload last night. I'll enter again next month if we end up skipping this month. I'll be on vacation next week with no computer, so would I be able to just leave these photos here for re-entry?
