Re: Jconcepts Tribute wheels and tire comparison

SWMS wrote:What part is stretched? The width of the tire bead that mounts to the wheels or the diameter of the tire opening?
the inner diameter of the tire is now stretched leaving the wheel with about a 1mm play when fitted in the tire.

Re: Jconcepts Tribute wheels and tire comparison

I was running my jconcepts firestorm tires on my txt1 rims till my jconcepts rims were ready. Today when I tried to transfer the tires over I found that the jconcepts rims are slightly smaller (approx 2mm) than the clod/txt1 ones and I think my firestorm tires might have been stretched out because ...

Re: Its beginning to look a lot like Clodmas!

I know what you mean. I recall when I worked on the Z4 I found that it was an amazing step up from stock and looked awesome... but by today's standards there are just so many things that could be improved. One of the first things that I worked on was the single-bearing cantilevers which IMO just don...

Re: Foam insert question

I've found that with the newer tires like the jconcepts ones that come in very soft compounds, the foam does help the tire to support the truck's weight better. With my other tires like the rumbles they are firm enough to run without foams. In fact, with foams they tend to be too firm. Personally I'...

That's very clean and the shell really sets it apart!

Did you make those upper shock mounts? They look very well designed.

Re: Its beginning to look a lot like Clodmas!

Man this brings back memories. The Zilla IV was my first mod clod chassis that took me a long time to save up for back in the day. Was so cool putting all those parts in the kit together and watching the truck come alive. By today's standards I think the chassis isn't going to really compare perform...

Re: Finally got my clod going!

Wow that's cool and unique. Is that a one-off chassis?

Those long shocks must give it a lot of articulation and roll.

Time to go lipo Bill - they are a superior power source in almost every way... and the price points have been coming down over time too. :)

Re: Servo Savers?

My trucks definitely get more than a foot of air. I run them on the tenth scale buggy track so they get 3-4 feet on the medium jumps.

I just installed the HB servo savers and from bench testing I am very pleased. I think these would work great!

Re: 1Bad's SMT10

Pardon the ignorance but I haven't seen those links before. They look quite interesting. Does the carbon fiber piece just act as reinforcement or does it form the outer mounting point for the link?

Looking good there!

Servo Savers?

Hi guys, Just a quick poll to ask if you guys typically run servo savers on your steering and if so what works for you. The reason I ask is that I run the big black kimbrough units on my clods and they don't last very long. It would seem the large wheels and the abuse is just a tad too much. The ser...
